Mayor Eric Garcetti was spotted today at an event in London celebrating our “friendship city” partnership by praising the opening of an overpriced co-working space and serving up his usual neoliberal word salad. During the event, Garcetti claimed that “LA is the face of how America will look tomorrow.” Given that homelessness in LA is still on the rise under Garcetti’s watch amidst a growing affordable housing crisis, that prediction sounds pretty fucking grim to us.
